Our interviewers are made up of local historians, videographers, educators, retirees, business people, students, and people with who share an interest in our country’s agricultural history. All of them are from the Sussex County community, volunteering their expertise and time to document our rich agricultural heritage.
The project is focused on collecting oral histories of farmers and farm families. However, our research and investigation indicates there are many more projects which would compliment our farmer oral histories: the history of the migrant worker in Sussex, the country store and agriculture, country church and agriculture, WWII German POW’s and Sussex agriculture, history of equipment and equipment dealers, history of crop dusters in Sussex, etc.
Please join us in helping to preserve the oral histories of our Sussex farmers and farm families and the story of agriculture in the county.
